While I can't recall the show I was watching (usually the case as I cruise through the channels), something caught my attention. What I remember is wanting to find out what my name means according to the Wu-Tang Name Generator. My name is Avis Ward and "from this day forward you will also be known as X-cessive Dreamer."
Wow! It may be like Astrology which I find coincidences but wow! Did it ever call me out. I dream big and excessively! I dream for myself and for others. The dreams I have are written in composition books. I dream to escape and I dream to create. Thankfully, there is a balance and when the scales are tipped, it easily recognizable, as if there's an internal mechanism bringing me back to my current reality. I know it's Holy Spirit.
Knowing myself, I was initially put off by it, thinking it was not a good thing to be known as anything "X-cessive" but within 12 hours, I was rejoicing over it. You see, I had already shared with friends that if Abram's name was changed to Abraham and Saul to Paul, mine was changed to Josephine (Joseph's female equivalent). If you know anything about Joseph, you know he was a dreamer. They all chuckled upon hearing this information but they know me. They agreed it was befitting.
I dream of unity. I dream of things beyond all that I could ever hope for but they fill me with hope. In my conversations with God, I've questioned Him about them. Let me clarify, I have dreams while I'm asleep but I am not speaking of those. These dreams are vivid and imaginative while I'm awake and coherent. I'll daydream, as well.
Some dreams are deferred and some are never realized. I'm counting on the Promises of God over my dreams but I know of His love and He is not a dream-stealer. All I can say is, "Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done." Amen. I'm going to dream on! It's unlikely I'll be insulted by the phrase, "In your dreams!" Many of my dreams have come true!
