Inspiration comes in various forms. It can come from a person, place or thing. Resolving to keep an open mind, entertaining "what if's, why not's " and possibilities, continues to enhance my personal enjoyment through this journey call life.
We mature and put away childish things but should retain the childlike wonder of life. Life is spectacular and I cherish it. Someone reading this may beg to differ. For them, life is rotten! Their marriage of many years or a few short months has come to an end. You are distraught with the emotional pain of your wounds.
You're at a place where you should look at your values and who you are. It is time for your pain to give you purpose. This poem is filled with wisdom and offers good advice. It's especially beneficial when you have heard all the scriptures you care to hear right now.
It is said; the darkest hour is just before day; joy comes in the morning. Veronica A. Shoffstall said it this way, "Comes the Dawn:"
After a while you learn
The subtle difference between
Holding a hand and chaining a soul
And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning
And company doesn't always mean security.
And you begin to learn
That kisses aren't contracts
And presents aren't promises
And you begin to accept your defeats
With your head up and your eyes ahead
With the grace of a woman
Not the grief of a child.
And you learn
To build all your roads on today
Because tomorrow's ground is
Too uncertain for plans
And futures have a way
Of falling down in mid flight.
After a while you learn
That even sunshine burns if you get too much
So you plant your own garden
And decorate your own soul
Instead of waiting

I pray for you now. May these words comfort and inspire you to forgive and reach out to others so you can receive your healing. Life is fabulous and it has not ended. It's filled with lessons.
