oo many leaders do great work for the Kingdom but miss out on the great joy that should go with it. My passion as a coach is helping ministry leaders develop balanced lifestyles that will sustain them for the long haul and help them find joy on the journey.
As a PK (Pastor's Kid), I understand the joys, conflicts, disappointments and often-lonely position of a ministry leader. My mother pastored for 23 years, long before it was acceptable for women to preside in a pulpit. It's given me a passion to help pastors, especially women, of small to mid-sized churches who face challenges just as great as those in larger churches, but often with far fewer resources. I'm known as a great encourager and a person who will stick with you through thick and thin. There is nothing more exciting to me than to come alongside a fellow pastor and see that person begin to come alive in the confident, joyful, restful life God has for him or her. Consequently, I love to work with pastors who:
- Feel like they are running flat out and don't even have time to think about change, let alone the energy to do.
- Feel their current position has run its course and aren't sure where to go next.
- Are struggling with a loss of passion for ministry or symptoms of burnout.
- Need to get control of their time, reprioritize, or restore balance to their lives.
- Feel stuck personally or organizationally and need help to get moving again.
Background
Let me tell you a bit about me. After 25 years in the business, medical and dental fields, I pursued a call to ministry I had let languish, by opening a home for homeless pregnant teens. I enrolled in seminary school and began ministry training.
Over the years, I found that mentoring, exhortation and leadership development were at the heart of what I was passionate about in life. So after receiving my formal coaching certification, I added coaching to my ministerial work.
When I'm not coaching or in the service of others, I am enjoying leisure travel, reading, building websites for family and friends, frequenting area attractions and discovering new ones.
