Here's a quick look at the nuts and bolts of the coaching process. I usually start with a free exploratory session, which gives you the chance to meet me, talk through our objectives and expectations, and see if we're a good fit for each other. (If I'm not the best match for you, I'm always happy to refer you to other great coaches I know!)
The leadership coaching journey begins with a mandatory Discovery Session. This session typically lasts around 3 hours, and is often divided into two sessions of 90 minutes each. These can be done either by phone or in person, if requested. (Additional fees may apply for travel and accommodations.) The one-time fee for the Discovery Session.
From there, each month of coaching includes several coaching sessions by phone and unlimited email interaction. All coaching fees for each month are due at the beginning of the month, prior to our first call for that month. There is a 3-month minimum commitment requirement.
In our first session, we'll spend some time building a relationship, then focus in on the growth objective you want to pursue. In each session we'll develop a set of action steps you choose that will keep you moving toward that goal. The coaching relationship provides a regular support structure with encouragement and accountability to keep you focused and on track with your important objectives.
I generally meet with my clients by phone. E-mail contact and short “spot calls” of 5 minutes or less between sessions are included free of charge. Before the Discovery Session, you will be sent a written agreement of the services you will receive.
